Welp, my animation work is all done so i've been looking for a new project. I've been meaning to get back into game development for a while now and a friend of mine suggested to challenge myself of making a point and click within a month. Luckily i had an idea laying around so i got to it.
I'm having a blast to be honest, i decided on a style reminiscent of 90's kids CD-ROM games or interactive books and heavily inspired by all the strange art Microsoft did for "Fine Artist" and "Creative Writer" (McZee!) or even, more obscurely, MS BOB.
Working within limitations is just a blessing. The only goal with this project is to finish. I plan to make it HTML5 so i can post it on Newgrounds and itch, completely free to play. It won't be the greatest thing of all time but hey, at least i finished something!
For those interested, for my games stuff i've always used Construct 3 (been a user since the C2 days) but i've been thinking of perhaps switching to Unity using the PowerQuest plugin. We'll see. Other software used:
Graphics: Pixaki (iPad) and Aseprite
Music/Sound: Logic
The game is set in a domestic home at night. You play as the trusty dog who lives there and has to solve a mystery. It's actually a pretty dark "story" if you could call that and i want to play with the juxtaposition of the kiddie art style and dark subject matter.
Here are the first couple of screens:
And for good measure, here were some early art tests when i started doodling in Pixaki to get a feel for things...
Fan Art!
Haunted Castle for kids?
Inspired by Gadget: Past as Future. Still kinda like it, might save for a future micro-pointnclick :)
Follow for more updates and to eventually play the game! See ya!

I wish you well on your project. Sounds like a fun game.
